Power
Every trim of the CX-30 is equipped with the same powerful 2.5-liter Skyactiv-G engine. You can choose from two engines for the Crosstrek, a 2.0-liter and 2.5-liter, but the output from the CX-30 is just a little better, at 186 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque compared to the Crosstrek's maximum of 182 horsepower and only 176 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed manual transmission is standard on the lower trims of the Crosstrek, while all models of the CX-30 are paired with a six-speed sport automatic transmission.
Safety
Both of these crossovers offer a safe, reliable ride to drivers and their passengers. Standard safety tech found on these models includes a lane-departure warning that helps you stay in your lane and high-beam assist that makes nighttime driving easier. In the CX-30, you'll also get a driver attention warning to help you stay alert and aware.
Design
As for looks, the Mazda CX-30 has smooth, fluid lines that give it an elegant touch, while the Crosstrek has a bold, rugged appearance. The CX-30 features rain-sensing windshield wipers, LED lighting, and power-folding side mirrors all standard. Inside this model, you'll find the convenience of push-button start, a 12-volt power outlet, sport seats, and an 8.8-inch center display starting in the base trim. None of these features are standard in the base Crosstrek, but some models do offer them. While both cars offer a range of options, the Mazda CX-30 provides a good balance of power and style.
