2022 Mazda 3 Hatchback

The 2022 Mazda3 Hatchback is available in seven distinct trims: 2.5 S Hatchback, 2.5 Turbo, 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus, Select, Preferred, Premium, and the Carbon Edition. All trims come standard with LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, and LED combination taillights. Each trim also features auto-on/off headlights, rain-sensing variable-intermittent windshield wipers, and a rear window wiper. Additional features include body-colored power-folding side mirrors with integrated turn signals and a rear roof spoiler. Upper trims build on the base features to add a power-sliding glass moonroof with Mazda's one-touch-open feature and interior sunshade and 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels.

All trims except the 2.5 Turbo and 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus come standard with Mazda's SKYACTIV-G 2.5-liter DOHC inline-four-cylinder engine with variable valve timing (VVT), which produces about 186 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque. The 2.5 Turbo and 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus equip Mazda's 2.5-liter SKYACTIV-G Dynamic Pressure Turbo inline-four-cylinder engine, which produces about 250 horsepower and up to 310 pound-feet of torque. Both engine platforms pair with Mazda's SKYACTIV-DRIVE electronically controlled sport automatic 6-speed transmission. Additional features of this powertrain include Mazda's advanced direct-injection fuel system and aluminum-alloy cylinder head and engine block.

All trims feature a front-wheel-drive drivetrain, with the i-ACTIVE all-wheel-drive system available for the Preferred and Premium. The 2.5 Turbo and 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus equip Mazda's i-ACTIV all-wheel-drive system. You can also upgrade the Premium to the SKYACTIV-MT 6-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. All trims feature a MacPherson independent suspension system with front struts and a rear torsion-beam axle. The Mazda3 also receives a substantial fuel economy rating, With the 2.5-liter platform getting up to 34 miles per gallon on the highway. The 2.5-liter turbo also gets a rating above 30, with an estimated 31 mpg on the highway.

Mazda packs the standard comfort and technology features into the 2022 Mazda3. Among some of the standard features are Mazda's advanced keyless entry system and push-button start, 60/40 split-folding rear seatbacks, and Bluetooth12 for hands-free audio streaming and communication capabilities.
