2022 Mazda CX-5 vs. 2022 Hyundai Tucson
2022 Mazda CX-5 vs 2022 Hyundai Tucson
Overview
We're huge fans of the 2022 Mazda CX-5. Between its ample power, unique persona, and long list of creature comforts, there are many reasons to love the new CX-5. To illustrate our point, here are a couple of ways the CX-5 outdoes one of its top competitors: the 2022 Hyundai Tucson.
Exciting Strength
The Mazda CX-5 and Tucson make the same amount of horsepower from their starting engines. However, the CX-5 makes more use of this strength. The CX-5's starting engine produces 186 pound-feet of powerful, low-end torque for improved acceleration. The Tucson's engine creates 178 pound-feet of torque. These model's upgraded optional engines have a similar story: they both create 227 horsepower. But with 93 octane fuel, you can get 256 horsepower out of your CX-5. It should be noted that the Tucson is also available as a hybrid. Also noteworthy is that the CX-5 comes standard with an all-wheel-drive system. The Tucson does offer an all-wheel drive as an upgrade.
Safety First
The 2022 CX-5 comes loaded with plenty of driver-assist technologies designed to keep you safer on the road. Its list of standard features includes a lane-departure warning and assist, a forward-collision warning with emergency braking, and a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert. The Tucson comes with the first two, but you'll have to upgrade to the second trim level for the blind-spot monitor. Though the Tucson puts up a good fight, we think it just can't quite keep up with the 2022 Mazda CX-5.
