2023 Mazda MX-5 Miata
The Mazda MX-5 Miata is a small sports car that delivers big fun. The standard Miata is a cloth-top convertible roadster and has just two seats. There's nothing like the MX-5 Miata on the road, and it's been delivering a unique driving experience for over 30 years. For 2023, it receives just one update — a new Zircon Sand paint color. Take a look at some of the features and equipment you can get with the 2023 Mazda MX-5 Miata.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The entry-level Sport trim comes with 16-inch black alloy wheels, LED headlights, and a black convertible top. Stepping up to the Club gets you 17-inch black alloy wheels, Bilstein shocks, a front lip spoiler and a rear spoiler, and a sport-tuned suspension. The optional Brembo/BBS Recaro package adds front Brembo brakes, dark gray forged alloy BBS wheels, and an aerodynamic body kit. The top-level Grand Touring trim has 17-inch dark silver alloy wheels, heated side exterior mirrors, and an auto-dimming driver's side mirror.
Engine (Power)
Power for all MX-5 Miatas comes from a 2.0-liter four-cylinder gas engine that develops 181 horsepower. The standard six-speed manual transmission sends power to the rear wheels, but you can opt for a six-speed automatic transmission if you have the Grand Touring trim. The four-cylinder has plenty of power for this small roadster, getting it up to 60 mph in just 5.7 seconds.
Performance
The MX-5 Miata provides drivers with a thrill behind the wheel. It has lots of power, the steering system is responsive, and the suspension is just right for smoothing out the road on long trips. The Club's stiffer suspension and limited-slip differential increase rear-wheel traction, and no matter which trim you have with the manual transmission, you'll appreciate immediate the quick shifting.
Interior
The trunk of the two-seat MX-5 Miata has 4.6 cubic feet of storage space. The Sport has cloth upholstery and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The Club adds gray contrast-color stitching and three-setting heated seats. If you step up to the Grand Touring, it adds automatic climate control, leather upholstery, and a cloth lining on the soft top. Technology in the Miata includes a 7-inch touchscreen, a six-speaker stereo system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and two USB ports. You'll get a wireless version of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in the Club, along with satellite radio and a nine-speaker Bose stereo.
Safety Features
Every 2023 MX-5 Miata has several advanced driver aids. It comes standard with a rearview camera, forward collision warning with automatic braking, a blind-spot warning system with rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-departure warning. It also comes with Mazda's Smart City Brake Support, which is a low-speed automatic braking system. The Grand Touring trim adds some additional safety systems. Stepping up to this top trim gets you automatic rain-sensing windshield wipers, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and a road sign assistance feature that can detect certain road signs. It will display the messages of these signs on the driver's instrument panel.
