2026 Mazda CX-5

The 2.5 S establishes the lineup with a SKYACTIV®-G 2.5L engine, standard i-Activ AWD®, Google built-in with a one-year Mazda Connected Services trial, and a 12.9-inch center touchscreen. The 2.5 S Select introduces leatherette-trimmed seating with embossed microsuede inserts, wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, and heated power-folding exterior mirrors. It brings a noticeable increase in cabin finish without departing from the CX-5’s straightforward layout. The 2.5 S Preferred adds distinctive 19-inch machine-cut alloy wheels finished in Black, a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with 2-position memory, and a programmable power rear liftgate. The 2.5 S Premium shifts further toward luxury with leather-trimmed seating, a power panoramic moonroof, and a Bose® 12-speaker surround sound system. At the top, 2.5 S Premium Plus introduces Mazda’s largest-ever 15.6-inch touchscreen, a hands-free power rear liftgate, and available Cruising and Traffic Support with Lane Change Assist.

Every 2026 CX-5 uses a SKYACTIV®-G 2.5L DOHC 4-cylinder engine producing 187 hp and 186 lbs. ft. of torque. A 6-speed automatic transmission is standard, as is i-Activ AWD®, which continually monitors driving conditions and distributes power to support traction. EPA-estimated efficiency reaches 24 MPG city, 30 MPG highway, and 26 MPG combined.

Mi-Drive technology provides Normal, Sport, and Off-Road modes, allowing drivers to alter vehicle responses for different roads and conditions. Mazda’s chassis tuning emphasizes controlled body movement and responsive handling, while predictive i-Activ AWD® adds another layer of confidence during Rochester winters and on changing surfaces.

The redesigned CX-5 offers its most spacious cabin yet, with increased rear legroom, knee room, and headroom improving comfort for second-row passengers. Seating remains configured for 5, while the redesigned interior also provides greater cargo capacity at 33.7 cu. ft. behind the second row and 66.5 cu. ft. with the rear seats folded. Materials become progressively richer through the range, beginning with leatherette and microsuede inserts and extending to leather upholstery and available Sports Tan leather. Higher trims add amenities including driver-seat memory, ambient door lighting, a panoramic moonroof, and power or hands-free liftgate operation.

The CX-5 introduces a more ambitious digital layout, culminating in the available 15.6-inch center touchscreen. Google built-in integrates Google Maps, Google Assistant, and Google Play through a complimentary one-year Mazda Connected Services trial. A standard 10.25-inch digital gauge cluster presents driving information directly ahead, while the MyMazda App supports remote engine start, vehicle location, and remote door locking and unlocking. Wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ and available Bose® audio further develop the cabin.

Standard i-Activsense® technologies include Blind Spot Monitoring, Road Keep Assist, Head-on Traffic Avoidance, Vehicle Exit Warning, Parking Sensors, Rear Automatic Emergency Braking, Rear Cross Traffic Braking, Forward Turn-Across Traffic Braking, Emergency Lane Keeping, Blind Spot Assist, Traffic Sign Recognition, and Mazda Radar Cruise Control with Speed Limit Assist. Available Cruising and Traffic Support with Lane Change Assist and an enhanced 360° View Monitor provide additional assistance for Rochester traffic and longer Minnesota journeys.
