Get Excited for the Mazda CX-30

Mazda CX-30 in Rochester, MN | Car Dealership
There is a new Mazda crossover SUV on the horizon, and it fits in the small slot between the CX-3 and the CX-5. The all-new Mazda CX-30 has a bold look and the same platform as the recently updated Mazda3. It is slightly shorter than the Mazda3 in order to fit in its new slot, but it has many of the same tech and comfort features and equipment. It's time to get excited for the new Mazda CX-30.

The Exterior Look

According to Mazda execs, the exterior design of the CX-30 is both sleek and bold. It will have the signature wide grille up front, and large front windows. The rear windows have a more forward-canted design, and there is thick plastic cladding on the wheel arches and the lower part of the body.

The Power

Mazda has not confirmed what the CX-30 will have under the hood, but experts speculate that it will have the same 2.4-liter four-cylinder found in the Mazda 3. If this is the case, it should get 186 horsepower and come with a six-speed automatic transmission. Both front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive will be available options. Most likely the CX-30 will eventually offer the option for the Skyactive-X 2.0-liter four-cylinder.

The Interior

Inside, the CX-5 is very similar to the Mazda 3 with a sporty seat design, and cockpit-like feel for the driver. In the back, there are 15-cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats which is more that you'll find in the Mazda 3 but less than the CX-5. This new Mazda will have extra sound-reducing material in the carpeting, the headliner, and in the floor mats to help reduce interior noise. The technology will start with an 8.8-inch touch screen, and it will have a rotary controller in the console between the two front seats. It will also offer the option for a 12-speaker Bose stereo system.
The Safety Features
The CX-30 will offer the option for Mazda's I-Activesense suite that includes several advanced safety systems. Adding this group will get you adaptive cruise control, auto high beams, automatic forward emergency braking, lane departure warning, and Mazda's pedestrian detection system. This new crossover will also offer the option for blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and other driver aid including parking sensors. A new driver aid you can expect to see in the CX-30 is the Driver Monitoring system. This watches the driver's face and eyes and can detect when they start to feel tired or stop paying attention to the road. If your eyes are on your phone and not on the road, it will sound an alarm to alert you, so you remember to put your phone down. This system will also send you the forward collision alert sooner than the previous system to give you more time to react. There is a lot to get excited about with this new Mazda. Its sleek exterior look combined with its comfortable and modern cabin make it the perfect choice for small SUV drivers. Mazda has not confirmed when it will hit dealerships in the U.S.

Maintaining Your Mazda's SKYACTIV Engine: Service Tips

Mazda's SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY achieves a rare balance of excellent performance and gas mileage. You'll keep your Mazda both powerful and highly fuel efficient with the following Mazda SKYACTIV maintenance. more Maintaining Your Mazda's SKYACTIV Engine: 6 Service Tips Check Your Coolant Continuous cooling is a must with any combustion engine. The very effective cooling system in your Mazda depends on the coolant, so check this vital fluid monthly and flush it every two or three years. If your coolant ever turns brown from contamination, you'll need to flush it early. Test Your Cooling System The rest of the cooling system, which includes the radiator, thermostat, cooling fans, heater core, and hoses, must be pressure-tested at least once a year to make sure each component, seal, and connection is sturdy. This test will uncover any worn parts or nascent leaks so they can be fixed and the engine protected. Change Your Motor Oil Motor oil lubricates the engine's internal components and minimizes friction. In doing so, it helps keep heat under control. Your engine will need fresh oil every six months or so. If you're a particularly active driver or drive in conditions that strain your engine, schedule more frequent oil changes. The last thing you want is to leave it too long, which would allow the oil to age and the engine to wear prematurely. Look for Oil or Coolant Leaks Leaking oil or coolant would put your engine at immediate risk. It's a good idea to build a habit of checking for leaks. Glance under your car for puddles on the garage floor. Also, raise the hood to check if you can see or smell leaking fluid; coolant has a sweet smell, and leaking motor oil will often create a burning smell as it runs over heated components. Replace Worn Spark Plugs A few parts inside the engine must be replaced occasionally. Spark plugs will usually last at least 30,000 miles and sometimes much longer, depending on the plug type and your driving habits. You'll also need to replace ignition coils and fuel filters periodically. Book Yearly Tune-Ups If you schedule a yearly engine tune-up, our technicians can keep an eye on all engine parts and carry out timely replacements. We'll check the oil, oil filter, coolant, ignition coils, spark plugs, fuel filter, and run a full diagnostic test. Schedule Routine Mazda SKYACTIV Maintenance Our technicians are factory-trained specialists in Mazda vehicles and SKYACTIV engines. With a regular preventative maintenance schedule, we'll keep your engine running smoothly with very few faults. We can also keep track of your visits and politely remind you whenever it's time for an oil change or tune-up. Bring your car to Rochester Mazda in Rochester, MN.
