If you’re looking for a new, sleek crossover SUV, check out the 2020 Mazda CX-5. Several driver-assistance features are now standard on the base model, making it even safer. Keep reading to
learn about five other features that might just make the CX-5 the right fit for you and your family.
Various Trim Levels
The 2020 Mazda CX-5 comes in five trim levels, so you can better customize this crossover to meet your driving needs and preferences. The base model is the Sport trim, which is followed by the Touring, Grand Touring, Grand Touring Reserve, and Signature trims. If you’re looking for a more luxurious interior and several extra standard features, you’ll want to check out the Signature trim. For example, the Signature includes Caturra Brown Nappa leather-trimmed seats, genuine layered wood trim, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a 360-degree view monitor, and a Mazda navigation system.
Engine Options
The 2020 Mazda CX-5 is equipped with two types of engines. The Sport, Touring, and Grand Touring trims come with a 187-horsepower, 2.5-liter DOHC four-cylinder engine. The Grand Touring Reserve and the Signature trims come with a 250-horsepower, 2.5-liter four-cylinder turbo engine. Both engine types are Mazda SKYACTIV-G engines and are equipped with cylinder deactivation or dynamic pressure turbo. Each CX-5 engine is paired with a SKYACTIV-Drive six-speed automatic transmission, which also comes with manual shifting and sport mode to better meet your driving preferences.
Performance Features
While all CX-5 trim levels come with i-ACTIV all-wheel drive, only the Sport, Touring, and Grand Touring also have the option for front-wheel drive. The i-ACTIV all-wheel-drive technology provides a seamless change between two-wheel and all-wheel drive when road conditions change and your vehicle requires more traction. It can also predict when all-wheel drive will be needed based on various factors — such as the outside temperature, windshield wiper usage, and braking patterns — and automatically engage all-wheel drive to avoid losing traction.
Interior Design
The Signature trim includes several interior features that are sure to make for a comfortable drive. In addition to what has already been mentioned, you’ll appreciate the LED lighting for the glove box, cargo area, and vanity mirrors; the frameless auto-dimming rearview mirror with HomeLink; and the black cloth headliner. Other features that some of the other trims are also equipped with include heated mirrors and seating, dual-zone automatic climate control with a pollen filter, a Mazda Connect infotainment system with voice command, and a 7-inch color touch-screen display.
Safety Features
The CX-5 now comes with several standard safety features to help keep you and others on the road safe. These features include hill launch assist, dynamic stability control and traction control, advanced smart city brake support with pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, cruise control with stop and go, lane departure warning with lane-keep assist, high-beam control, and smart brake support. These features are not meant to replace attentive driving tactics but instead work with the driver to improve everyone’s safety.
These features are only a few of what the new CX-5 has to offer. Come and check out a 2020 Mazda CX-5, and see how it feels from behind the wheel.
