The ever-popular Mazda CX-3 has undergone some revisions in the 2020 model year. Trim Packages
The CX-3 lineup will only include the Sport model in 2020. The CX-3 Touring and CX-3 Grand Touring will no longer be available. The exterior features of the Sport include a rear spoiler, a roof rack capable of carrying 165 pounds, rain-detecting windshield wipers, and power door mirrors with integrated turn signals. Exterior colors available for the CX-3 include ceramic metallic, deep crystal blue mica, eternal blue mica, jet black mica, machine gray metallic, snowflake white pearl mica, soul red crystal metallic, and titanium flash metallic.
Interior Features
The biggest change to the interior of the 2020 CX-3 is the addition of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to its list of standard features. The CX-3 also includes a 7-inch touch screen, a head-up display for vehicle data, six-speaker audio, smart device integration, Bluetooth connectivity, and voice-integrated audio and phone. Audio controls that are conveniently located on the steering wheel allow you to adjust your audio without taking your eyes off of the road.
The cabin of the 2020 CX-3 provides comfortable seating for five. Cloth upholstery and metal-look interior accents create an upscale feel. The rear seats are 60/40 split-folding. With the rear seats in use, the CX-3 provides 17.8 cubic feet of cargo space. Cargo space jumps to 42.7 cubic feet with the rear seats folded flat.
Engine and Performance
The CX-3 engine remains the same in 2020. The CX-3 is powered by a 148-horsepower, 2.0-liter I-4 engine paired to a six-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard with an available all-wheel option.
The 2020 CX-3 is easy on the pocketbook with an EPA-estimated combined fuel efficiency between 29 mpg for all-wheel-drive models and 31 mpg for front-wheel-drive models.
Safety Features
The 2020 Mazda CX-3 now includes Mazda’s i-ACTIVESENSE package. This comprehensive safety package uses cameras and sensors to provide a multitude of driver support features. Features of the i-ACTIVESENSE package that increase driver awareness include lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, traffic sign recognition, distance and speed alert, front and rear cross-traffic alert, driver attention alert, and a 360-degree view monitor. Automatic high-beam control and adaptive front-lighting systems adjust the headlights to provide the best possible lighting, even around curves.
Driver-support systems included in the i-ACTIVESENSE package include radar cruise control with stop and go, lane-keep assist, and traffic jam assist. Smart-brake support in both forward and reverse helps prevent accidents.
