Exterior Features
All CX-30 models are equipped with power-folding side mirrors, LED headlights, LED combination taillights, LED daytime running lights, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and a rear spoiler. The Select Preferred and Premium models also include rear privacy glass. The top-of-the-line Premium model also includes a power-sliding moonroof, roof rails, a rear power liftgate, and an adaptive front-lighting system. The CX-30 is available in a wide variety of bold colors including snowflake white pearl, polymetal gray, machine gray, deep crystal blue, soul red, and jet black.
Interior Features
The roomy CX-30 can carry five passengers with ease. Upholstery options range from cloth in the base model to perforated leather in the Premium. The Preferred and Premium models include heated front seats. Other standard cabin amenities include push-button start, power windows, and power locks. A windshield-projected active driving display and steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters are also standard on the Premium.
The rear seat in the CX-30 is a 60/40 split-folding bench. With the rear seat occupied, the CX-30 provides 21.2 cubic feet of storage space. Cargo room increases to 45.2 cubic feet with the rear seat folded flat. Cargo-area lighting makes it easy to load and unload packages.
All CX-30 models are equipped with Mazda’s Connect Infotainment System that includes an 8.8-inch display, HD radio, SMS text message auto delivery/reply, in-car WiFi, and Mobile 911 automatic emergency notification. Other standard features include Bluetooth hands-free phone/audio, dual USB ports, and a 12-volt power outlet. The audio system and cruise control are easily adjusted using steering-wheel-mounted buttons. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also included in all models except for the base CX-30. The Preferred and Premium models will delight music lovers with their 12-speaker premium Bose audio system.
Engine and Performance
Every CX-30 is equipped with a 186-horsepower, 2.5-liter I-4 engine that produces 186 pound-feet of torque. The engine is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission that includes manual shift and sport modes. Front-wheel drive is standard, with an available all-wheel-drive option on all models. Mazda’s off-road traction assist maximizes traction on even the most challenging terrain.
The CX-30 is easy on the wallet thanks to its impressive fuel economy. The front-wheel-drive models have an EPA-rated fuel efficiency of 25 mpg city and 33 mpg highway. The all-wheel-drive base CX-30, Select, and Preferred models have a fuel-efficiency rating of 24 mpg city and 31 mpg highway.
Safety Features
The CX-30 boasts an impressive array of modern safety features. All models are equipped with a suite of advanced air bags, LATCH, and a rearview camera. Other standard safety features include smart brake support, driver attention alert, radar cruise control, lane departure warning, lane-keep assist, high-beam control, dynamic stability control, and traction control. All models except for the base CX-30 also include blind-spot monitoring and a rear cross-traffic alert.
