The 2020 Mazda CX-5 is an excellent choice if you need space for up to five. This compact crossover SUV has consistently ranked highly among models in its segment, thanks to its impressive power and performance, upscale cabin features, and stellar handling. The CX-5 comes in five trim levels, which are Sport, Touring, Grand Touring, Grand Touring Reserve, and Signature. Every model showcases an eye-catching exterior, while the base includes standard LED headlights and keyless ignition. Exterior upgrades on the higher trim levels include keyless entry, a sunroof, and a power-operated liftgate.

The standard engine is a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder that makes 310 pound-feet of torque and 227 horsepower. It pairs with a six-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is optional on all trim levels except the top Signature, which is standard with AWD. The AWD system also includes off-road traction assist, which sends torque to the wheels that still have traction in slick road conditions.
The CX-9 comes standard with seating for seven, although the top trim has second-row captain’s chairs that take the capacity to six. Interior standard features include heated front seats, a power-adjustable driver’s seat with adjustable lumbar support, dual USB ports, and a suite of safety features. You can also get your cabin equipped with a heated steering wheel, ventilated front seats, rear USB ports, leather upholstery, and a power-operated liftgate.
Mazda6
If your family fits in a sedan, the Mazda6 is a competitive option. This stylish midsize sedan seats five people comfortably and even has plenty of space for car seats in the rear.
