Road Keep Assist When it comes to safety, the CX-50 goes the extra mile with standard advanced safety features that its competitors don't even offer. In addition to Lane Keep Assist, which can steer you back into your lane if you're drifting out, the CX-50 also comes with standard Road Keep Assist. 4 Standout Features of the 2023 Mazda CX-5

As cross-over SUVs go, few can rival the looks and performance of the Mazda CX-5. What makes the vehicle so exceptional is the technology and engineering that lies behind its stunning exterior. A visit to a Mazda dealer will show that this has resulted in many standout features that set it apart from other vehicles in its class. more 4 Standout Features of The 2023 Mazda CX-5 on Show at Your Mazda Dealer All-Wheel Drive One of the most impressive aspects of the CX-5 is the number of advanced features that come as standard across all the trim levels. The I-Activ AWD System is an excellent example. Providing all-wheel drive technology, the system constantly judges road conditions, monitors wheel movement, and assesses the ride. It then adjusts the power supplied to each wheel to ensure a smooth journey, regardless of road conditions. Off-Road Mode In conjunction with the AWD system, the CX-5 has an impressive off-road capability built in. If you have to navigate muddy farm tracks or are suddenly confronted with rugged terrain, the off-road traction assist will help you cross the ground more efficiently. The mode uses a combination of intelligent braking and traction control to stop wheel spin and improve surface grip. It moderates the torque applied to each wheel at a given moment allowing the car to cross different types of ground easily. Radar Cruise Control Aiding the driver is crucial for improving and enhancing the driving experience. To this end, several technological innovations are incorporated into the CX-5, with Radar Cruise Control being a great example. The cruise control can be set to manage your speed and distance from the car in front using radar to regulate both. If you come up behind a slower-moving vehicle, the speed is reduced until the vehicle moves away or you change lanes, allowing the speed to revert to its set level automatically. Large Cargo Volume The CX-5 is not just about style and ride but also about practicality. An illustration of this is the up to 59 cu ft of cargo space available, with the rear seats and floorboards set in the right configuration. You can aid access to the cargo area with the optional Rear Power Liftgate, which can be set to open at different heights. The liftgate has the added safety feature of automatically locking if you don't open it fully within a few seconds, ensuring it doesn't spring open when moving off. The CX-5 is genuinely an impressive vehicle, and these standout features contribute immensely to an enhanced ride and driving experience. Reading about these features is one thing, but appreciating how much difference they make is another. That is why driving the 2023 CX-5 is the best way to discover how good it really is. Does Your Mazda Need a New Catalytic Converter?

Catalytic converters are a required piece of equipment in your fuel system used mainly for environmental protection. This vital component not only entraps dangerous gases but also assists in helping your vehicle have the best fuel economy and horsepower your engine can achieve. Before you visit your Mazda dealer, this list will explain how the device works and the signs you need an upgrade. more Do You Need to Visit Your Mazda Dealer for a New Catalytic Converter? 1. What Does a Converter Do? Converters are used to intake harmful emissions from your engine and break them apart chemically into less harmful molecules. The device contains a ceramic base and layers of metal honeycomb inside with openings at both ends for intaking and releasing exhaust gases. Bonded to the filtering layers is a precious metal that can be rhodium, gold, palladium, or any other appropriately reactive element. When exhaust gases pass through and make contact with these layers they are chemically broken into more manageable forms. Hydrocarbons, nitrogen oxides, and carbon monoxide are all broken apart and released as things like oxygen and water. 2. Signs Your Converter Needs Replacing Usually, the first sign your converter needs replacing is seeing an increase in trips to the gas station. If fuel is being used inefficiently, you will waste more gas during things like acceleration and will empty your tank more quickly. Another early sign is hearing a rattling noise from beneath the vehicle. If the filtering mesh has worn away to the point of breaking, the metal will bounce around within the casing and create sound. If the noise you hear is more similar to a roar than a rattling, you may have lost your entire converter. Without this piece, the engine will be much louder in volume even when idling. Issues like this are also combined with an unpleasant sulfur smell since the fuel-air mixture will be incorrect and unused gas particles will be released out the tailpipe. 3. What You Can Gain from an Upgrade Converters naturally become blocked as they age from increasing levels of deposits. When air is unable to pass through correctly, new air will have no room to enter the engine, resulting in an incorrect fuel-to-air ratio. Without the proper combustion of fuel, you will find it difficult to accelerate on top of spending more money to keep your tank full. After an upgrade, air will easily move through the device, and fuel will be utilized to your benefit. With fresh air, it is much easier to accelerate and you will not need to press on the gas as often to maintain speed. There are more reasons than passing an emissions test to want your converter new and spotless. Visit Rochester Mazda to upgrade your converter and know you are receiving the best performance your fuel system can offer.

Pretty soon, Mazda will be rolling out the newest member of its lineup: the 2022 Mazda MX-30. We're excited to see exactly what this brand-new model will be bringing to the streets. Here is what we know so far about this all-new Mazda model. more What is the MX-30? The 2022 Mazda MX-30 is an all-electric SUV, the first production electric vehicle in the Mazda family. A plug-in hybrid model will be made available for the 2023 model year. This new subcompact SUV model will give electric drivers a powerful new option for the 2022 model year. The MX-30 takes many of its styling cues from Mazda's CX SUV series. The elegant lines that make up the SUV's body do away with the superfluous angles and grooves you find on many SUV models pretending to be sportier than they are these days. The MX-30 features pillarless freestyle doors. These coach-style doors have conventional front doors that fold over rear doors that open toward the back on a rear hinge. Power The MX-30 is slated to be outfitted with a front-mounted motor that produces 144 horsepower and draws its power from a 35.5-kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The first MX-30 will be offered exclusively with a front-wheel-drive system. Mazda has not yet announced whether the hybrid version will be offered with the drivetrain. Mazda has designed the MX-30 to offer an exceptionally smooth experience for its drivers. The electric G-Vectoring Control Plus system gives the driver an enhanced connection to their MX-30 through steering wheel responsiveness and precision. Mazda has partnered with ChargePoint to give drivers access to thousands upon thousands of charging stations around the world and to make charging at home easier and faster. The plug-in hybrid version of the MX-30 is slated to be equipped with a rotary engine and electric motor. Said rotary engine hasn't been in a production vehicle since Mazda's RX-8, which was discontinued in 2012. Interior Excellence Mazda has extended the eco-conscious treatment to the cabin materials. The materials Mazda is using to craft the MX-30's interior will be sustainable options, including cork and recycled fabrics. Very little information past that has been released about the MX-30's interior, so be sure to stay tuned for updates as they are released. When Can I Drive It? The 2022 Mazda MX-30 will be released in California in the fall of 2021. Its availability will spread to other states sometime in 2022. The 2023 MX-30 plug-in hybrid version will be released sometime in 2022, but no further information has been released about it at the time of this writing. Check back with our team every now and then for updates on this exciting new model from the Mazda family. When the MX-30 rolls into our dealership, you can expect your test drive waiting for you. If the 2022 MX-30 is a sign of what Mazda has in store for the electrified vehicle world, we can't wait to see what else the company will have to offer in the future.

Top 3 Reasons to Buy a Hatchback

Sedans have always been a popular choice for drivers who don't need a lot of extra space in their vehicles and want to save money on fuel. Hatchbacks have quickly been gaining popularity as an alternative option, providing both space and fuel economy. Here are the top three reasons to buy a hatchback. more 1. Practicality Hatchbacks are more practical than sedans when it comes to configurations for cargo and passengers. Some of the smallest hatchbacks offer more space than midsize sedans when it comes to cargo. When you consider that many hatchbacks have a 60/40 split-folding rear seat, a hatchback becomes a cargo hauler quickly and easily. The split-folding rear seats offer superior interior volume and the flexibility to carry a mix of people and cargo. With a hatchback, you get this ample interior space without adding the exterior dimensions, making it both maneuverable and easy to handle. The hatchback design also allows for more headroom for rear passengers, making it more practical as a family vehicle than a sedan. The higher roofline also contributes to the ability to haul big, bulky items in the cargo area, but a bonus is the increased headroom. Thanks to that extra bit of space, adults and teens who sit in the back will be comfortable. 2. Visibility Hatchbacks tend to sit a little higher from the ground than sedans, offering a better line of visibility for the driver. The rear window is also set more upright, allowing the driver a better view from the rearview mirror. The hatchback design also provides more overall glass area, providing everyone with a better view of the road and your surroundings because of the bigger windows around you. Larger windows also allow you more visibility when parking your hatchback because you can see more of what's around you. 3. Style Hatchbacks offer a more stylish and distinctive design than sedans, causing more heads to turn as you pass others on the road. Hatchbacks have a sleek look, thanks to the shorter backend. Sedans tend to have a boxier look, offering little in the way of the style from one model to another. Today's hatchbacks have fresh, modern styling to make even the base trim of any model more eye-catching than the top-of-the-line trim of a sedan. Inside today's hatchbacks, you'll find a host of comfort and technology features that add to the style and design. Many of them offer a Wi-Fi hot spot, Bluetooth connectivity, navigation systems, USB ports, touch screens with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and multi-speaker premium audio systems. Comfort features such as leather seating, heated steering wheels, hands-free power liftgates, heated front seats, power-adjustable front seating, and even heated rear outboard seats make today's hatchbacks appealing. When you're ready to get into a Mazda3 hatchback, reach out to your local Mazda dealer. A knowledgeable member of their team will be happy to help you answer any questions you may have, give you a tour of their showroom, or set you up for a test drive. Once you slide into a Mazda hatchback, you'll experience the practicality, visibility, and style for yourself.

Mazda Skyactiv

What is Mazda Skyactiv Technology?

Vehicle manufacturers are constantly looking for ways to improve the driver experience, from handling to fuel efficiency, comfort features to technology, and everything in between. Mazda introduced SKYACTIV in 2011 and has spent the past ten years perfecting this system. You may have heard this term tossed around before, or maybe you're hearing it for the first time. What is Mazda SKYACTIV technology? more SKYACTIV Engines First up is the SKYACTIV-G, a direct-injection engine offering the world's highest gasoline compression ratio of 14:1, which significantly improves overall engine efficiency. This technology provides a 15% increase in torque and fuel efficiency thanks to the high compression combustion. The increased torque improves everyday driving at low and mid-engine speeds. The high compression ratio is created by a 4-2-1 exhaust system, multihole injectors, cavity pistons, and other innovative technologies designed to increase the compression ratio. Next up is the SKYACTIV-D engine, the diesel engine for the SKYACTIV line. Also featuring the best in the world compression ratio of 14:1, the SKYACTIV-D engine provides a 20% improvement in fuel economy while meeting or exceeding exhaust emission standards worldwide. The high-efficiency turbocharger of the SKYACTIV-D delivers excellent acceleration and a snappy, smooth response. The jewel of the SKYACTIV line of engines is the SKYACTIV-X engine, the first commercial gasoline engine to use homogeneous charge compression ignition (HCCI) SKYACTIV-X. HCCI happens when the fuel-air mixture spontaneously ignites when the piston compresses. The SKYACTIV-X also features Spark Controlled Compression Ignition. This first-of-its-kind combustion method uses spark plug ignition to manage compression ignition giving marked improvements in several performance parameters. The SKYACTIV-X combines the benefits of a traditional gasoline engine with those of a compression ignition diesel engine to produce expansiveness at high RPMs, cleaner exhaust emissions, along with superior initial response and fuel economy. SKYACTIV Transmissions Part of the SKYACTIV technologies are two different transmissions. The first being the SKYACTIV-DRIVE automatic transmission which provides smooth shifting and excellent fuel economy at low speed. Utilizing a lockup range over 80% gives the SKYACTIV-DRIVE a natural sense usually only found in manual transmissions. SKYACTIV offers a manual transmission called the SKYACTIV-MT, a compact and light system offering a perfect mix of premier fuel efficiency and crisp shifting mechanism reminiscent of a sports car. SKYACTIV Platform and Dynamics The platform on which the SKYACTIV technologies are built consists of a light but rigid framework. Mazda trimmed over 100 kilograms of weight from the car to help create a sense of oneness with the car and driver. The light but robust SKYACTIV-BODY combines with the lightweight SKYACTIV-CHASSIS featuring completely redesigned suspensions to create a feeling of oneness with the vehicle. The final piece to the SKYACTIV technology is SKYACTIV-VEHICLE DYNAMICS which provides integrated control of many individual components such as body, chassis, transmission, and engine to reach complete optimization of the vehicle's performance. If you'd like to learn more about the SKYACTIV technology by Mazda, visit your local Mazda dealer. Their team would love to answer any questions or get you set up for a test drive to check it out for yourself.
