1. Visiting Silver Lake Park
One of our favorite things to do in Rochester over the summer is visiting Silver Lake Park at 840 7th ST NE. You can load your family and a couple of coolers into your 2024 Mazda CX-90 and picnic under one of the picnic shelters. There is also a boat launch, and you can rent electric paddleboats, kayaks, or canoes and enjoy the cool, refreshing lake.
Another reason to visit Silver Lake Park is that it is home to the Rochester Rowing Club. If you are interested in improving your physical, mental, and social wellness, you can ask them about joining after practice. You may make new friends and fall in love with a great sport.
2. Soaring to New Heights at Air Insanity
If the weather is a little too warm, you can have plenty of fun at Air Insanity at 1607 Hwy 14 E. This indoor trampoline park features an open jump area with over 5,000 square feet of trampolines. There are plenty of curved walls you can run up and flip off of and ramps that can help you nail the coolest tricks.
You can also joust against your friends on the Warrior Battle Beam or catch a pick-up game of Insane Dodgeball. You can find a dodgeball room with wall-to-wall trampolines. If you enjoyed dodgeball as a kid, you will love it here. Another popular attraction at this park is the Vault Escape Laser Maze. You can choose from two laser maze challenges.
3. Checking Out Thursdays Downtown
Another great summer activity in Rochester is checking out Thursdays Downtown. From 11 AM to 8:30 PM every Thursday through August 10, you can hang out with other members of your community while enjoying a block-party-like event in the middle of the city at Peace Plaza, 3rd Street Southwest, and 1st Avenue Southwest.
Some of the most popular food vendors include Zen Fusion, Tiger Belly Eats, and Sweet House Bakery. There are also other types of vendors, including those that sell clothing and soaps.
